2007 Annual Report
2007 ANNUAL REPORT
MISSION
The mission of the Woodland Music Series is to provide an annual four-weekend summer celebration of music to our citizens and visitors. The Series will feature recognized name talent and new, emerging artists across a wide musical spectrum, appealing to a broad range of tastes and ages. Public education and awareness is enhanced through exposure to a wide array of musical artists, supporting cultural development and diversity. The Series develops Woodland Park as a destination recognized as presenting artistic events attracting cultural tourism and providing a positive economic impact to the area.
ORGANIZATION
The organization is working in conjunction with the City of Woodland Park, is a member of the Mountain Arts Council, and a 501(c)(3) organization. The directors are local businessmen and women, all with substantial interest and experience in the music industry and all dedicated to establishing a permanent venue for presenting a full range of music to the area.
While the Woodland Music Series committee produces the concerts, the series enjoys the cooperation and support of many members of the city departments, including the Parks, Buildings and Grounds Department, the Woodland Park Police Department, the Woodland Park City Council, the City Clerk and City Manager. Many city employees have willingly assisted in the production of these concerts. We wish to thank them again for another year of kind cooperation and service. Private citizens (fancy name for our volunteers) and local businesses also continue to play an important role in the production of these concerts. We wish to thank them for their continued enthusiasm and financial support. Thank you to the following: Ute Pass Lioness and Primo’s for your great food, Mom the Clown and Elizabeth Summeril for entertaining the little ones, and Bristol Brewing for supplying us with the fermented libations.
Thank you all for attending the concerts. Your enjoyment of the Series and the city facilities makes it all worthwhile.
The four weekends for 2008 are June 13th & 14th - “Purely Bluegrass,” July 11th & 12th - “Mix it Up,” August 8th & 9th - “Shades of Blue,” and September 12th and 13th - “Big Band Bash”.
We are excited about the 2008 Series and hope to see you there.
Of course we could not have done it without these folks!
